IB Inside Corner

Extend the parapet wall membrane on wall one into the corner on one plane, and secure the membrane vertically with approved IB fasteners, spaced 12 inches on the center. Take the membrane on wall two and extend it beyond the corner to overlap the fasteners. Be sure to allow sufficient overlap membrane to create a minimum weld of two inches beyond the outside edge of the fastener plate. Once positioned, tack weld the membrane of wall two to the field membrane to hold it in place. Make relief cuts to the membrane at the top of the parapet wall corner and secure the membrane to the top of the wall. At the base of the corner, cut the membrane of wall two from the outside edge to the inside corner at a 45-degree angle to allow for the membrane to overlap properly. Make a second cut starting from the outside edge of the vertical flap to the inside corner at a 45-degree angle. Tack weld the vertical flap into place.

At the base of the corner, cut the membrane of wall one at a 45-degree angle, leaving enough material to create a one-and-a-half-inch weld. Weld the membrane of wall one to the field membrane, forming the base seam by starting in the corner and working outward to achieve a one-and-a-half-inch weld. Weld the membrane of wall two to the field membrane, forming the base seam, again, by starting in the corner and working outward to achieve a one-and-a-half-inch weld. Weld the vertical flap of wall two, starting on the base of the corner and working vertically to achieve a one-and-a-half-inch weld.

To install IB molded inside corners, place it tightly against the corner. Use hand pressure at the base of the corner and hold firmly. Starting in the corner, progress with welding from inside to outside, working uniformly to form the weld at the top and bottom of the molded corner. Repeat this welding process on the opposite side of the molded corner. Upon completing the installation, ensure all seams and laps are inspected and probed. If deficiencies are found, the area must be welded or repaired.
