Join us, IB Roof Systems, as we partner with Sound Foundations NW in a meaningful initiative to combat homelessness in the Seattle area
Gage Fishering, of IB Roof Systems, is organizing a material drive and fundraiser to support Sound Foundations NW, an organization dedicated to constructing tiny homes for those experiencing homelessness. We have already garnered support from organizations such as National Women in Roofing (NWiR), the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC), and the Roofing Contractors Association of Washington (RCAW), Socotec, and now we extend this invitation to the broader roofing community.
Volunteer your time and talents on February 20 or 21, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sound Foundations NW location in Seattle, Washington. If you are unable to join us in person, consider making a monetary donation or contributing materials to support this worthy cause. Email Gage Fishering with IB Roof Systems for more information.

- A remarkable 56% transition rate from tiny homes to permanent housing, is one of the highest rates among homeless shelter options.
- Last year, Sound Foundations NW assisted over 2000 individuals in transitioning from homelessness to permanent housing by providing transitional tiny homes.
How can you make a difference?
- The material costs for one tiny home amount to approximately $4,500.
- Residents typically stay in a tiny home for 114 days, allowing three people per year to transition to a better life.
- Built to last 20 years, each tiny home has the potential to impact up to 60 people.
Seattle currently faces the third-largest homeless population in the United States. With 21 tiny home villages and about 750 tiny homes, the city has made significant progress due to the combined efforts of volunteers, donors, and government support. Your contribution, whether through volunteering or donations, brings us one step closer to making a difference. Sound Foundations NW operates on the principles of building tiny homes, fostering community, ensuring safety, and having fun.
We look forward to your participation in ending homelessness and showcasing the roofing community's commitment to giving back. Together, let's build a better future for those in need.
