IB Clad Drip Edge

IB Clad Drip Edge is formed into a standard metal drip edge profile to provide heat-weldable perimeter roof edge termination for IB roofs. Install the IB-clad drip edge by positioning it on the edge of the roof on top of the field membrane. Ensure to provide a quarter-inch space between metal joints for thermal expansion and contraction needs. Secure the IB clad drip edge with ring shank nails spaced at four inches on center, staggered, or using a minimum number 14 HD fastener spaced at 12 inches on center. Note: Supplement or increased fastening for high wind and specific project design conditions may apply to comply with ES-1 and/or applicable building codes at any metal butt joints that occur. Install a strip of two-inch wide IB foil tape so it is centered over the joint. Then cover the IB foil tape with an IB NR 5 x 8 metal joint patch so it is centered over the foil tape. Weld the IB NR metal joint patch to the exterior face of the IB clad drip edge. Trim any excess material off of the IB NR metal joint patch and round the corners.

With the IB-clad drip edge secured, roll out the IB cover strip to the desired length and cut. Make sure to round the corners at each end. Position the IB cover strip one-quarter inch off of the exterior edge of the roof. Weld the roof edge side of the IB cover strip first. Complete the installation by then welding the interior seam of the IB cover strip to the field membrane. Ensure that all welded seams form a one-and-a-half-inch weld.

Upon completing the installation, ensure all seams and laps are inspected and probed. If deficiencies are found, the area must be re-welded or repaired.
