OCHO RIOS, Jamaica (February 9, 2021) – The Palace Foundation announces its collaboration with U.S.-based, IB Roof Systems™, a leading provider of complete PVC roofing solutions for flat or low-sloped roofs, to provide groceries and personal care packages to more than 90 children from three local schools. St. Christopher School for the Deaf in Brown’s Town, Walkerswood Academy and Parry Town Primary School all in the parish of St. Ann received these packages during IB Roof Systems’ Contractor Retreat, that began January 29. In addition, five care packages were donated to random Moon Palace Jamaica staff from various departments last week.
“When the idea of preparing care packages for children of St. Christopher’s, Walkerswood and Parry Town was presented, both our team and The Palace Foundation worked diligently to make it a reality,” said Jason Stanley, Chief Executive Officer, IB Roof Systems. “We were honored to be a small part of providing these care packages to these children and their families.”
All care package items were purchased from local Jamaican wholesalers and valued at more than US$3,000. Each package included grocery items including rice, flour, cornmeal, sugar, cooking oil, macaroni, sardines, mackerel, corn beef, sausages, oats, milk powder, tinned beans, and more. Toiletries included tissue, toothpaste, washing soap, bath soap, lotion, deodorant, etc. A bottle of hand sanitizer and a face mask was also included.
“Many of the parents who accompanied the students to collect the care packages expressed their heartfelt joy and gratitude at being selected to receive this gift,” said Natalie Boreland, General Manager Palace Foundation. “IB Roof Systems, CEO, Jason Stanley, was so moved by his experience that each family was given taxi fare to return home.
